Design Beyonds "Design"

I made up my mind to be a designer at my teenage, but not specifically graphic designer, I just keep creating and crafting to explore my passion. After working as an advertise woman for about 2 years (Yes, my bachelor degree is about advertising and marketing), I started to realize what I really want to do: I want to work on my own ideas, make them out just like what I expect, rather than anyone else ruin it with bad design works. That's the reason why I becoming a graphic designer.

Generally, I looked up the definition of graphic design, it says like this:

However, when I started my graduate graphic design courses, I found the term might be out of date. I found it is actually about problem & solution. For all the projects, we are searching for a decent solution which works well and looks great. It means that what we create can be far more than a piece of "ART": the deliverables (books / posters / websites / motion graphics) are just parts of the whole solution, they works altogether to solve the problems. In a word, the "solution" is the final product of design.
